What it does

• One-tap logging. Save the foods you eat every day as quick-add tiles. No searching the same chicken breast every morning.
• A home-screen widget. Today's protein against your goal, at a glance, in four sizes, light or dark. Tap to open.
• Real nutrition, offline first. Search any food and Proteus scales protein and calories to the weight you enter — answered from a USDA FoodData Central database bundled inside the app, going online only for the long tail.
• Goal and progress. Set a target, watch the bar fill, see reached ✓ when you get there.
• Day history, light & dark themes, backup and restore to a file you keep.

Why it's private

There are no accounts, no cloud, and no server — your food log, goals, presets and theme are stored on your device, and there is nowhere for us to send them. Proteus uses no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and asks for no sensitive permissions at all: no location, no camera, no microphone, no contacts, no file access.

It is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob, which means Google receives your device's advertising ID and technical details — never your food log, which the ad SDK cannot reach. Where consent is required you're asked first, and a one-time Remove ads purchase turns them off for good. The privacy policy spells out every request that leaves the device.
